In the Netherlands there is an amusement park called the Efteling, and in it there is a ride called Villa Volta. When you enter that ride you are greeted with the words: “This house, this cursed house, it is a veritable hell”, just before the house will turn upside down with you in it.
This exactly represents the sentiment you want to avoid when building a smart home, foremost when your aren’t the only occupant. I must admit I don’t always succeed in this, especially when I have a lot of ideas and just go and implement them, without proper testing.
